Volunteers learn by doing and sharing their talents with others. We offer activities appropriate for all ages: individuals and families, youth and community groups are welcome.

*4 Community Forestry Day - Focus on wildlife.
This year we are hosting a couple special activities for Community Forestry Day in January.
Going Bear at Hopkins Demonstration Forest
Gather at 830am, into the woods by 900am, enjoy community lunch at noon with bear talk until 100pm.
We’ve got a bear! And we want to learn more about its habits, pattern of use, and how it fits into the landscape and resources at Hopkins Demonstration Forest.
Winged-creatures habitat box construction and placement
Gather at 8:30am, construct habitat boxes until noon, enjoy community lunch, install habitat boxes in the forest until...?
2:00 pm Tour will focus on wildlife habitat and use of Hopkins property; 90-minutes; some walking on rough ground. Please call ahead to attend the tour.
